A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in the Jackson, Mississippi area partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor a local U.S. veterans organization. Along with a donation, the Fairway branch held a residential housing “boot camp” to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to best handle the home-purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.
Fairway and AWI honored the organization, LoveVets Ministries, with a $5,000 donation. Founded by U.S. Army veteran Clarence Douglas, LoveVets works to provide tools and services for the eradication of homelessness in the United States’ veteran community.
Area manager Russ Ogburn was excited to be part of this fantastic event in Mississippi. He said:
“In April of this year, Louise Thaxton and Karen Vaughn came to present to our local Realtors in Jackson, Mississippi. Louise and Karen are very passionate about the AWI cause and are both amazing speakers. This was our first experience hearing them live … and all thought it was an INCREDIBLE and AWESOME EVENT. Tears were shed and hearts were moved that day! In addition, we raised $5,000 that day for our local veterans charity in Jackson, Mississippi.”
Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.
I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, please give me a call.Tags: Veterans
